Former Personal Trainer’s Visalus Sciences Review

Why I decided to do a Visalus Sciences review.

Well if your Facebook is anything like mine you are hearing a lot about Visalus Sciences. Whether you want to or not. I’ve been approached by several leaders from that organization multiple times so I figured I look a little deeper.

Visalus Sciences

1st off a little about me and why I might be a little more qualified then most to review a product like this . I used to be a personal trainer and worked in the health and wellness industry for about 5 years. I have a certification in personal training and as a nutrition consultant.

First off if your wondering if you can lose weight with Visalus Sciences the short answer is yes. But here is my professional opinion on supplements for weight loss.

  1. Most likely you didn’t take any pills or powders to gain weight.
  2. The results will go away when you stop using the product that got you the results most of the time.

Losing weight is relatively easy compared to keeping the weight off. I actually do a similar blog post over at Friant Fitness go check it out.

The 1st thing I’ll say about Visalus sciences is their marketing is very good and they’re a direct sales MLM company. Like most companies they skew the numbers to say what they want them to say, most marketing involves a bit of smoke and mirrors. For instance the chart below-

Visalus SciencesCertain things to take into consideration-

  • # of calories that are being called a meal
  • The actual purpose of the product
  • What’s being charged for the product

My understanding is with  Visalus Sciences  your doing 1-2 shakes a day and then depending on what program your on there is other supplements that get added to that base program. OK I have a problem with a meal that ranges from 90-170 calories unless your doing 4-6 meals a day. I have never recommended less then 1,200 calories for women or 1,800 for men a day. Even those #’s depend on a person’s body weight.

Now another thing is a couple of the products in the chart above are for  gaining muscle mass, not necessarily for weight loss. So your comparing apples to oranges. When you increase the protein the calories have to go up. Also generally if you increase the protein the fats tend increase as well. Remember not all fats are bad we need a certain amount of fats in our diet as well.

Last point I’ll make while referring to the above chart-  After comparing some but not all of the products, the costs are skewed. Now it doesn’t mean their wrong. I just don’t believe everything is comparing best price to best price.

Now all that being said I’ve just scratched the surface and most of it has more to do with the way things are presented then the actual product itself. Now I believe Visalus Sciences implemented as part of a nutritional regiment could be quite beneficial. I’d say in a six meal a day plan using the product mixed with skim milk to increase the calories and protein intake it’s a good product. Still my preference is to build a nutritional plan around food not supplements. So I’m a little biased in that regards.

I think the biggest selling point for Visalus Sciences is there comp plan and the 90 day challenge promotion. Both of which I’ve been brutally beaten over the head with on Facebook on regular basis. Now that is not a reflection of the company or internet marketers in general. Some people just don’t know any better. Besides I’ve seen some people market Visalus on FB really well to.

Going back to the 90 day challenge and comp plan, their very good. The marketing message of get three and yours is  free is powerful. Also the 90 day challenge is a very strong built in call to action for some one looking for a product to market. Visalus Sciences also has a good comp plan.

All in all I think Visalus Sciences as a whole is a great network marketing opportunity with a solid product, it just isn’t for me.

Next step good bye J.O.B and then I'll actually have the time to reboot that fitness thing. We only fail when we quit.

  1. Wow! What an informative review about Visalus Science and how does it benefits lots of people out there. This approach of weight loss management is proven by many these days. Keep posting stuff like this and I will come back for more updates. Thanks!

  2. Hi, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility
issues. When I look at your blog in Safari, it looks fine
but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping.
I just wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, awesome blog! recently posted.. Profile

  3. I agree that ViSalus Sciences is a good Internet home business opportunity for certain people and not for others. They have a quality weight loss/muscle building shake that works, if that’s your thing. But if you aren’t in to those things or making a little extra money Online, it probably isn’t for you.

  4. Is there another page or something to this “review” all it offers is a slight criticism and then makes some useless statements – seems like one of those websites designed to look independent – somewhat like the multilevel marketing scheme it is talking about….

    • Hello James,
1st off thanks for stopping by my blog. But I wonder if you even read my review at all by your comment. The review contains my opinions as someone who has worked in that industry and to be honest I decided to do a blog post on it because ViSalus Sciences is a hot topic in this industry. I’m kind of curious why you’d even bother to research the company if you feel MLM is a scam. If you have come to my blog it is most likely through a Google search.

E-mail me if there is more specific info you were looking for. I’ll help if I can, but again not quite sure what you were looking for.

  5. I have use ViSalus Vi-Shape Shake for the past year and half and have lost over 100 lbs… two shakes a day, with healthy snack between and a sensible meal. And even stopped it for a couple of months and didn’t gain any lbs back. So I would guess that “Used to be a personal trainer” is for a reason… I can see why… your negativity!! So I guess you think you know more than other nutrionist doctors that recommend this program.
For those that really want to be in shape, get fit, or loose weight… then come and join with me to a better healthy you at

    • Hey Moses,
I’m not sure why you think my post is negative. I’d say it’s neutral at worst. The fact of the matter is I’m sure you didn’t take any shakes or pills to put on that extra 100lbs and you don’t actually need any of that to take it off. If really need to know I’m a former trainer because I decided to take a job that offers my children health care. I think your personal success is awesome but just because someone doesn’t believe the same way as you doesn’t make them negative. I wonder if you even read the article.

You could of achieved the same results any number of products some of which could of been purchased for much less from your local store or with eating better and exercise. I wonder if you’d use that product if there wasn’t a compensation plan attached to it.
